Shoalhaven Heads Public School enjoys a strong and active Parents and Citizens Association (P&C).
The P&C successfully supports and enriches the quality education of our students through:
- participation in school decision making processes
- the provision of significant funding for additional teaching resources
- operating, with the support of volunteers
- organising and promoting social events for students and the broader school community
The P&C conducts fundraising activities that also contribute greatly to the student and parent social calendar: the Mother's and Father' Day stalls, The Annual Charity Golf Day, farewells, Special Food days, raffles and cake stalls.
These activities are only possible with the continued support of parents and community members. Parents and community members support the P&C in a variety of ways:
- Volunteering in the uniform shop
- Volunteering at P&C organised events
- Taking up positions on the P&C Executive or sub-committees
- Donating gifts, prizes or supplies to P&C activities
- Attending P&C meetings.
How does the P&C work
The P&C meets twice a term, usually on the Wednesday evening of the 4th and 8th week of term, at 5:30pm at the Bowling Club. We often have a meal.
The P&C Executive, Principal and many P&C members attend, and all parents and citizens are welcome to come and make suggestions, share ideas, raise concerns and hear more about the issues and events that are engaging the P&C and school.
P&C meetings are advertised in advance in the school weekly updates.
